Body in Action

We went to ‘’Body in Action” at the museum first thing this morning. Nicky and Imo were there to help us. My favourite thing was the massive board game that made disgusting noises like a fart. I loved the exhibition. It was so fun that I’m probably will take my Mum and Dad there. On this machine which tells you how fast you are going I came second with Rohan, Sam, Albie and Joe R. I would recommend it. There is this massive hammer where you try to get the ball to hit the bell and it is really fun.

The best Holiday ever

In the holidays I brought four new soldiers; two swat, two army. On the second week I went to Rai Valley Christian Camp. My leaders were Elijah and Dan. The activities we did were go karts, shooting, archery, spa, swimming, mountain boarders and bikes, We also had kayaks, this tube where you rolled down the hill, the cocoa nut throw and the four wheelers. My friend Kegan toppled over the bike. We also did climbing on a rope and heaps of other stuff. I had a bunch of fun!

The Whriling Wind

On Wednesday 30 July a storm hit Nelson at
1:30pm.Tree roots broke out of the ground. Basket ball hoops smashed to the ground and so did soccer goals. It was unbelievable to see what was happening in front of my eyes. There were heaps of sirens and heaps of twigs were falling off trees. It was amazing to witness and also it was interesting.

People and Cars

Too many people use cars to travel short distances. In my opinion people who live close to the schools they go to should walk, bike, run, jog, scooter or skateboard. They should also bike even if they live ten minutes away.
I reckon cars should be banned altogether. They are polluting everywhere and making the world’s air harder to breathe in. I wish they would go to the days with horses and carts. Children could die because air will be harder to breathe in. Kids like me have asthma and sometimes we have asthma attacks. Some asthma attacks are caused by pollution.
The ozone layer is getting thinner and global warming is getting hotter. Insects such as dragonflies don’t like hot weather and this is killing them. They may be coming to extinction.
Kids’ parents spend all of their money and can’t pay for their bills. That’s why I think cars should be banned.

Computer Kids

We are learning to write an argument that will persuade the reader to agree with our point of view. We need to include:
· An introduction which states the problem and tells our opinion,
· Reasons for our opinion,
· An ending which restates our opinion.
The first one we have written is about what needs to happen so we get a fair turn using the computer at home.
Eight year olds have trouble getting to use the computer at home. In my opinion kids should have time limits because it’s not fair how long their brother or sister get on the computer. They should have charts that tell the daily timetable of what happens on the computer at what times. They should also have finger scanners which only let one person in the whole family. They would make sure that the first person who scanned their finger, it would only serve them and if that doesn’t work, the younger child should go first because the older kid goes to bed later.

What Nelson Central Means to Me.

I have had lots of teachers and love them because they’ve been nice, caring, kind, helpful, inviting and they’ve had good discipline. I’ve been in four classes which are Renwick 3, Room 11, Room 9 and Room 5. There’s no way I would leave this nice school.

Legend of the Willow Pattern Plate

Long ago in China a king had a daughter called Koong-se. The king wanted her to marry a duke but she wanted to marry a servant called Chang.
They built a high wall to keep Chang out but Chang was clever and snuck in and disguised himself as a servant. That night the alarm was raised. The mandarin chased him with whip in hand but they escaped to an island.
The Duke learned of their tricks and put Chang to the sword. Koong-se lit the house on fire because of her sorrow.
